Massage of the soft tissues of the body to increase circulation. Increases relaxation, range of motion, circulation and healing, relieving minor aches and pains. This style of massage uses kneading, rolling, vibrational, percussive and tapping movements.
Madelein first introduced therapeutic massage to Southport Athletic Club when she brought her business here in 1988. She enjoys using a wide variety of techniques when listening to a body to address each individual's specific needs. She brings her passion for the benefits of massage to students at the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy (CCMT) where she has been teaching since 2003. Second only to her love of giving massages is her benefit from regularly receiving massages.

Kerstin has been practicing massage at Southport Athletic Club for 4 years. Her warm personality will immediately put you at ease. By applying her deep understanding of physiology with a well-honed intuition, she delivers results-oriented, quality attention for complete relaxation and pain relief. Known at the club for her deep-tissue sports massage, she is often able to permanently relieve muscular pain and chronic stress patterns.
Degrees & Certifications: Kerstin studied at the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy and received her CT State License in 1999. She is licensed to perform Swedish Massage, Canine Massage and is also a certified Reiki practitioner. Most recently, she has studied Deep Bodywork and Esalen Massage at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, CA.
